Very New To Ireland Parish Needs

Good day, as the title represents me well, I am trying to figure out where my 6th great grandfather lived in Ireland. Here is information I have in my research:

County Westmeath, county, province of Leinster

6th great grandfather: Thomas Dennis b 1650 d 1720 (America); married Jane Tatnell on 6 Jul 1681, Edenderry, Offaly, Ireland.Traveled to America was on a ship(Pink)name wasYe Owners Adventure. They sailed out of Dublin harbor in September 1681 and were at sea 62 days, arriving in what was called De Lawarre Bay, America. Thomas' father was named Charles Dennis of the same region, b 1627 Meath (not sure of county, this is the only name I have). I have not confirmed a mother for Thomas.

I just knew when I found this sight, fromsubmiting my brother's DNA to FTDNA I would find someone out of the 6000 people registered with DNA a relation connection. I did not. But, I did connect to this site, which has lifted my spirits. I truly have deadends with my 6th great grandfather, Thomas Dennis, but I am hopeful someone on your site can point me in a direction I will unturn some stones.

I thank anyone who reads and has suggestions, as I am looking forward to getting to know my lineage of Ireland.

I'm sorry that noone has responded to your post as yet.

I had a search on www.rootsireland.ie/ for Thomas & Jane but the records only start in 1720; you have done well to get back to the 1600's as most of us get stuck about 1820!

There are 7 Dennis listings in the Irish phone book (www.118.ie/) in Westmeath sp perhaps you should drop them a line with the information you have posted above to see if any can assist.

There are no Tartnells listed in Offaly

I did a google search and found this on wikitree:

Thomas is my first family member to move to USA from Ireland. Settled into New Jersey then our family moved to South Carolina. They settled there for over 100 years. Mars bluffs in Florence South Carolina.
