Trying to locate the baptisim record for my husband's great grandmother Mary Collins
Hello, I am trying to locate the baptisim record for Mary Collins. I have managed to locate Mary's marriage and death certificates, which I hoped would have been able to give me the names of her parents, so I could then locate her baptisim record.
Mary's marriage certificate records that she was married to William Winfield in a catholic church, on 21 January 1885 in Queensland, Australia. She was a spinster, 17 years old and from County Clare Ireland. This information confirms that her birth year was about 1868. Her father was listed as James Collins, and her mother Ellen McKerney? I have attached a section of this marriage certicate, which shows the names of Mary's parents. James Collins is quite easy to read, but I was wondering if her mother's name was Ellen McKerney?
Mary's death certificate records that she died on 30 April 1943 in Queensland, Australia. She was a widow, 75 years old, and from County Clare in Ireland. This has confirmed that her birth year was 1868. The informant on Mary's death certificate was her son John Winfield. Her father was listed as James Collins and her mother Mary McInerney. This is a different name from the one recorded on her marriage certificate. I have attached a section of the death certificate which records the name of Mary's mother.
I have tried to research Mary's baptisim record, using James Collins as her father, and both Mary McInerney and Ellen McKerney as her mother. I have used every available option to try to find this information, including the resources at the Clare County Library, but to no avail.
Any help with deciphering the name of Mary Collin's mother on both her marriage certificate and death certificate would be very much appreciated, as well as any hints on how to locate the elusive baptisim record.
Many thanks, Gabrielle
