Trehy - Murphy - McCarthy - Houlihan - Casey - Blake families

regardsI am working on tracing my family from Ireland. these are the family names from my great grandmother, Caroline Houlihansside. She was born in Brooklyn NY. Her father, Michael Houlihan, was born September 6th 1867 in Adare. Her mother, Ellen Veronica Blake, was born in January 1873 in Adare . Michaels Parents were James Houlihan and Caroline Trehy. James parents were John Houlihan and Patrick McGrath. Carolines parents were Andrew Trehy and Catherine Fitzgerald. I know Carolines sister Mary married a Connolly and I have found a cousin living in England, Teresa Connolly , who sent me some great information including pictures of Marys cottage in Adare which is now owned by another cousin who rents it to tourists.

Ellen Blakes parents were Michael Blake and Bridget McCarthy. Michaels parents were Jacob Blake and Mary Murphy. Bridgets parents were Jacob McCarthy and Margaret Casey . I am looking for any and all information that anyone has on any of these families and relatives I can get in touch with. I know the Houlihans split between the US, England, and eventually Australia and I have found a couple of those Australian cousins so far. Looking forward to hearing from any and all possible family.

Last March I attended a talk given by Paul O’Brien, Lecturer MIC Limerick, on the construction of Dromore Castle, Pallaskenry. It was remarked during the talk that the name of James Houlihan, Adare, was inscribed on the Dromore Castle entrance pier.

I subsequently did research into James Houlihan, Mason, and found a marriage record for his daughter, , Caroline Houlihan, Adare,  married  14 July 1900 a James Doleman, (Girder Fitter), No 2 Coburg Place, Seville Place,  at the Church of Ireland, Parish Church of  St Thomas, Dublin city. The marriage was celebrated by Edmond Robinson and witnessed by Fannie Latimer and Samuel Sharpe. James was son of James Doleman, Fitter and Caroline daughter of James Houlihan, Mason.

I have attached some of the records that I found while researching, most of which I can see are mentioned in previous posts in Ireland XO.

Page 7 and 9 of the attached, may be Mary Caroline's, brother James Houliahn, who was resident at Kilkee, Co. Clare until his death in 1908.
