More information is needed, who were Elizabeth's parents ? what date is applicable when Elizabeth went to Liverpool/ Married, do you know who John Fay's parents were, What was Bessie and Leo's surname etc, any information you can provide would be helpful.

Death of a Leo Kieran 1971 , Proleek, Dundalk, Co. Louth. Could this be your Leo?

Marriage cert for Leo Kieran and Elizabeth Broughton 1934

Hi Eileen . Thanks for the information the certificates are definitely correct for my father’s cousins Bessie Kiera nee Broughton .  I do not have a name for Elizabeth’s mother as I cannot locate birth or baptism information. She may have left for Liverpool pre 1901 as there is a census with her being single and age 30. Her marriage to John Fay in 1899 gives information that her father was deceased and a farmer  and gives her age as 31. There is the transcript and the copy of certificate one gives father as James and one as John . As for the Fay side I have information on them . But nothing for my grandmother Elizabeth in Ireland or who her parents where . Hope this helps Kathleen

This death cert for a John Traynor is interesting in that he comes from Pooleek, do you know if your Traynor family also lived in this area of Dundalk? Did Elizabeth and John Fay have any children and if so do you know their names, sometimes the naming pattern can provide clues. I notice the mother in this death cert is named Bridget. Do you know if Elizabeth was actually born in Dundalk or if she had any siblings and if so their names. On the marriage cert to John Fay is there an address for Elizabeth in Dundalk? I will keep searching but anything you can add would be great

kellyeileen20@…

Yes, he is  definitely related to me . I have a  3% dna  match on Ancestry  also John whose great grandmother Catherine was Johns sister. So the Proleek area including the Cooley peninsula is definitely correct . I do  not know the name of my grandmothers siblings but I do remember my father telling me his mother was one of two sisters.

Yes because the names always followed in family’s , like you I have thought about that . Elizabeth’s children were Mary , Margaret and Patrick . Mary and Patrick were   her husband Johns father and mother. So Margaret seems a contender . My father Patrick called me Kathleen . So don’t know if that was because of his Irish roots or a a grandmother or Aunt maybe .

Marriage of John Fay and Elizabeth Traynor 1899, I notice a Catherine Traynor is a witness, I wonder if this was Elizabeth's sister?

Thanks . The birth certificate for Margaret Trainor is very useful. She is a daughter of Bridget I was not aware of and sister of Catherine. Whether Catherine is a sister or cousin of Elizabeth I am unsure about . Catherine’s father is definitely Thomas . But Elizabeth’s marriage certificate shows John .
