Tracking Down a Relative

I'm trying to track down a relative who went to Boston, Mass to find work many years ago.  He left Galway and left his wife and children to find work.  He became an Inspector on the Boston trams until unfortunately he had an accident and was killed.  

The story was that he was living with another woman, his wife being back in Galway with the children.  What the situation was nobody seems to know.  I've tried looking for anything in a newspaper in Boston but as we don't know the exact date nothing has been forthcoming.

Anybody have any further ideas please?
