Hi all can anyone find some births for me william tipping born 1841,James tipping born 1844,Jane tipping born 1836 and Jackson tipping born 1853 all church of ireland as far as I know and possibly born in or around derryscollop mmn possibly croan thank you in advance Daniel Parker
Derryscollop is in the parish of Clonfeacle. There are 3 Church of Ireland churches in the parish - Clonfeacle, Derrygortreavy & Moy. Sadly all their early baptism records were destroyed in the 1922 fire and nothing for the 1840s now remains.
In Griffith's Valuation of Armagh in 1864, the following two Tippings were in Derryscollop:
Tippings John Derryscollop Clonfeacle Co. Armagh
Tippings John Derryscollop Clonfeacle Co. Armagh
I hope this is helpful.
Story of my life ah well it looks like I will get no further with this the only chance I may have would be if said churches kept records away from the government of that time anyway thank you for your help Patricia it was greatly appreciated
Daniel,
I'm guessing you've seen Jackson's marriage record? It notes that his father's name was JOHN. I hope this is helpful.
