Timothy Bryan (a Tailor) son of Thomas Bryan born circa 1835

I realise this is a needle in a haystack but after many years of searching, I can find no record of which county in Irelad my great great grandfather came from.  From records in England, we know he was born in Ireland between about 1833 & 1837 and was buried in a Roman Catholic cemetery in Liverpool in 1880.  Timothy Bryan was a Tailor (journeyman) and the son of Thomas Bryan (a joiner according to Timothy's 1863 marriage in Liverpool).  Timothy's earliest found record in England is in 1861 when living in Everton, Liverpool. It is assumed he left Ireland sometime before then. I am posting this in the hope that this may be familier to someone looking at Bryan genealogy or anyone who can suggest something else I could try to help locate his Irish origins.

Dear Ron_P_S:

Thanks for your query.  I see that there are 3 possibilities on Roots Ireland which is a subscriptioin site database.  However, there could be other records which are not on this site, but the places that you might find worth noting are:  Clogheen County Tipperary which is a Roman Catholic parish on the border of Counties Tipperary and Waterford (and the parish register notes both counties!).  There is a Timothy Brian baptised 30 October 1832 to Thomas Brien and Julia Hyland.  Sponsors were:  James Coghlan and Ellen Brien.

The free to view record in the NLI Parish register is here:  https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632282#page/139/mode/1up (bottom left hand side of the page).

Two other possibilities are:

1. Timothy Brien baptised 15 January 1838 in Loughmore parish County Tipperary.  His parents were:  Thomas Brien and Judith Ryan.

The free to view record in the NLI parish registers is here:  https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632683#page/319/mode/1up  (first entry at top left of the page)

2.  Timothy O'Brien baptised 1 December 1839 in Dungarvan County Waterford.  His parents were:  Thomas O'Brien and Mary Power.  Sponsors were:  John Kiely and Johanna Power.

The free to view record in the NLI parish registers is here:  https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632182#page/24/mode/1up  (left hand side of the page).

It may be worthwhile taking out a small subscription to try to narrow down the possibilities.  If you know Timothy's mother's name, that would be a big help.

Good luck with your research.

Kind regards,

Jane

Thanks for your information.

I don’t have a Timothy in my O’Briens.  Mine were tailors in Monamolin, Wexford.

if I see anything else I’ll let you know
