Thomas Selby, 1779 - 1837

I am searching for confirmation of the birth of Col. Thomas Squire Selby, b. January 31, 1779, Ballyfoyle, Laois. Thomas emigrated to Canada. I believe that Thomas' parents were John William Selby and Elinor Briscoe, originally from Northumberland, UK. I'm afraid that I do not have any more information than that.

Ballyfoyle townland is in the civil parish of Killabban. I'm assuming Thomas Selby was Church of Ireland. Records for that parish are only available starting in 1802. The records are maintained at the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. https://www.churchofireland.org/about/rcb-library/catalogues/parish-records
