Thomas McGuinness.

Do you know when Thomas went to England? Did he marry here or in the UK? What was his wife's name ? I came across a record for a Thomas McGuinness 1882 with a father Edward , see below

Thank you Eileen. From Liverpool Census Records He came to Liverpool before 1871 as He married Mary Ann Berry in 1870 and remained here until He passed away. I cannot find any Brothers nor Sisters or if Edward and Mother also came with Him to Liverpool . I’ve been told by an Ancestry UK Member that His Mother was Margaret ? but as I cannot find a Birth Certificate I’m sceptical.

He had 5  Children all born in Liverpool, 2 died as babies,His Son my Grandfather Bernard was a Lusitania survivor, I have a lot of info: on this side but lack my Irish side.

I found this baptismal record on rootsireland.ie (civil registration of births did not start until 1864). I can't say that this is definitely your ancestor but the name, date, place match what you know.

Thank you so much for your time Patricia. I will play around with my Ancestry Tree and change Edward (On Thomas’s Marriage Cert) fo Christopher Edward and see if anything comes up. It’s worth a try as I’m completely at a dead end.

A little update.

I have just found a more legible Marriage Certificate of Thomas and Mary Berry which thankfully states His Father as Edward and Mother Margaret ?. Maybe I can now find His Birth Certificate and be able to progress in finding my Irish Ancestors and maybe as a bonus Siblings of Thomas…
