Thomas Duke of Cavan
I hope someone can find some info on my 5th great grandfather, Thomas Duke, born abt. 1781, a farmer of 7 acres. It is not sure if he was born in Ireland, there's nothing to suggest he was or wasn't. The only and earliest record I have of him and his family, was the 1821 Cavan Census.
Thomas Duke married Daphne Fitzpatrick (born 1787), which has been DNA confirmed. Daphne Fitzpatrick is the daughter of Farrell Fitzpatrick and Mary Carty. Children of Thomas and Daphne were; Mary Ann, (abt. 1806-?) (my 4th g grandmother), Ann (abt. 1810-?), Farrell (abt. 1812-?), Catherine (abt. 1814-?), Phillip (abt. 1815-1853), Peter (abt. 1816-?), Patt/Patrick (abt. 1819-?), Brigit (abt. 1822-?), Matthew (abt. 1824-?).
The only 2 children I have been able to trace, is Mary and Phillip. Mary married John James Hall and they lived around Armagh after marriage. Phillip married Mary McKeown, moving to New York in 1849, and lived out their life there.
I would really like to find information on Thomas Duke Snr. or any of his children. I have not been able to find deaths either.
I have traced most of the Fitzpatrick sides, but the Duke's are a mystery.
Many thanks
Brenda
