Thomas Delaney, circa 1662, father of Daniel Dulany and others

Based on a book titled The Dulany's of Maryland, my husband is descended from one of the sons of Thomas Delaney, who was born circa 1662, presumably in County Laois.  We do not know a parish or townland and no sources are cited regarding his place of origin.  His son Daniel was said to have started university, perhaps Trinity in Dublin, but emigrated to America (specifically Maryland) in 1703 when Thomas remarried after the death of Daniel's mother and reduced Daniel's financial support.  Thomas, his second wife and sons from the second marriage (to a Sarah), emigrated "several years later."  Thomas died in Baltimore, Maryland in 1738.

We would very much appreciate any information on this early Irish family.  We will be traveling to Ireland in May and would love to visit the area where they are from, but we are uncertain where that is beyond -- possibly -- County Laois!
