The Leeds method and more
This is essential for ANYONE using DNA for their research.
The Leeds method is used by professionals and experienced researchers alike. It has two main benefits
ONE it cuts down on the amount of research needed by making groups of your matches -these 'clusters' are all from the same part of your tree - meaning you can combine the names and origins of these people in trying to establish origins.
TWO All new matches can easily be categorised into one of the groups that you make, enabling an easily used comparison with your new match - does the new match add to the information you already have and do they know the other pwople are matched in your group.
Ther is more but this is iessentiial to making DNA life easy.
Somewhere on this site is a protocol I wrote for the Leeds method and some essential DNA indormation if I can find it ...... but it is easily searched for on the internet.
