Teresa (Theresa) Butler - my grandfather's mother - her father William Butler - I believe from Kilkenny area....

I am trying to trace back - Teresa Butler, her father William Butler, his father Daniel Butler and that is as far as I can get. I think they were from Kilkenny area but have been unable to find any trace. Teresa was born in Ontario. She married Leckie and they lived in Pembina, North Dakota for a short time, had children and then she left the family and went to California. The rest of the family was then raised by her husband and her parents who came from Ireland to help out. Grandma Butler spoke only Gaelic. THat's as much as I have.

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland for William Butler baptismal records where the father was Daniel. Two records came up which are below. The first record was 1825 in Kilkenny and the second record was 1841 in Wicklow. You did not provide any approximate years of birth in your message. Do either of these records pertain to your Butlers?

I have Daniel’s son William married Julia Ann Burtch( Birch) (Burke)Jan 15 ,1833

Daniel possible birth 1819 Tipperary

Daniel’s father- also William - marrying ? Martha Sumpter March 2, 1810 St Mary’s Warwick, England

Is there a connection to James Butler May 1391-1452?

I don't see the 1833 marriage record in the subscription site I'm using. Daniel would not have been baptized in 1819 if he married in 1833. I don't have access to English records for an 1810 marriage record.
