Seeking descendants of James Coghlan and Mary (Clonfadda / Killaloe, 1790-1820)

Hello,

I am researching my ancestors, the Coghlan (also spelled Coughlan) family from the Killaloe parish (specifically the Clonfadda/Garraunboy area) in County Clare.

My ancestors, brothers James Coghlan and Patrick Coghlan, emigrated to Montreal, Canada, around 1818-1820.

  • James Coghlan married Ann Dolan in Montreal in 1820.
  • Patrick Coghlan married Honora Kelly in Montreal in 1818.

According to their marriage records in Canada, their parents were James Coghlan (Sr) and Mary [Unknown], who likely remained in the Killaloe area. I am looking for information on the siblings of James and Patrick who stayed in Ireland (possibly brothers named John or Michael) to reconnect with this branch of the family.

My lineage continues in Quebec through Thomas Coghlan (son of James) and Yvonne Coghlan.

If anyone in the Killaloe or Clonfadda area recognizes this family or has Coghlan ancestors with links to Canada, I would be very grateful to exchange information.

Thank you!
