Searching For Robert Casey/William Casey/George Battle Dublin?
Hi
I am desperately trying to break down my Irish brick walls.
My great grandfather William Casey came over to England c1870 I think, as he married in 1871 in London. They were married in a Wesleyan Chapel. His wife Ellen Toole and her brother Luke Toole also came over from Ireland around the same time.
Two other siblings of Williams also came over to London, Mary Casey and James Casey. A third sibling Annetta Casey married George Battle and they moved to Lancashire.
Williams' father was Robert Casey but I know nothing about him. His widow Margaret was living with Annetta and George in 1871 and with William and Ellen in 1881.
Margaret was born in Woolwich in Surrey c 1808. I wonder if she was Robert's second wife as she would have been in her late 40s and early fifties when Annetta, Mary, William, and James were born c1840s - 50s.
I believe they came from Dublin, possibly Booterstown, but am not entirely sure. Luke and Ellen's father was also called Luke. Family history has him as a carriage driver for the Guinness family but I take that with a very large piece of salt.
I really want to find Robert and Margaret's marriage and accurate birth details for the four siblings that I know of, Also Luke and Ellen's births and marriage for their father.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
