Searching for the marriage record of John Green and Mary Mullen (Louth/St. Peter's)

Hi:

My wife's G-Grandfather was Laurence Green, a Catholic born in Drogheda, Louth. His baptism was 25 Aug 1861 in St. Peter's and the record lists his parents as John Green and Mary Mullen. John and Mary had two other children: Rose (1859) and Bridget (1863). I've been unable to locate any information for John and Mary's wedding or their parents. I'm assuming the marriage also occured in St. Peter's but can't find that record. I've been looking on Findmypast & Ancestry. Does anyone have suggestions as to where else I can go? Thanks.

Hi Kevin, Drogheda has 3 parishes, the main two are St Peters north of the river and St Mary's south, this parish is in Louth and Meath but in the diocese of Meath, marriage records for the church opened circa 1832 do not exist until 1874 after civil registration period of 1864, baptisms are from 1834 so likely they married in St Mary's and lived in St Peters. The other parish is Mell or Mellifont and is outside Drogheda but parts included.

See here for available records https://registers.nli.ie/ ;

A site about Louth here https://jbhall.clahs.ie/

Both names still in Drogheda.

Good Luck
