Searching for information about Bridget Morrissey

I am searching for information about my Great great grandparents Patrick Kierce and Bridget Morrissey and my great great great grandparents Michael Morrissey and Ellen Kenny.

Patrick and Bridget were married in Gort co. Galway in c1855. Patrick came from County Clare. Bridget was born in Gort district (?) Galway. Her father was Michael and her mother was Ellen Kenny both born in Galway but no other information is available.

Patrick and Bridget emigrated to Australia. They sailed on the Fitzjames which arrived in Adelaide Australia on 31st Dec 1855. In 1869 they left Adelaide for Eltham Victoria with their 6 children John, Ellen, Michael, Thomas and Catherine. Patrick's younger brothers, John and Thomas Kierce travelled with them.

Hi Faye, Gort church records only commence in 1848 for baptisms and 1853 for marriages so you are unlikely to find further information unless older registers are found if they ever existed.

The name Kierce is interesting, I searched Clare for a baptism 1820 to 1840 and only got a Catherine Kierse ln Greg, New Quay, Clare, father Morgan and mother Margaret Cooley, Sponsors were James Larkin and Mary Fahey, baptism 14th October 1837, later in the 1850s there Kierse and Kierce mainly in Ballyvaughan, so the name is there.

You could try some of the FB pages for Clare and Galway, these are private genealogy groups and there are also DNA matching ones.

I am looking over unanswered queries.
