GGrandmother Fogarty, Mary Ann, born 1858-59 in China while father in British service there. emigrated to North America approx. 1860-65. her parents unknown but born in Ireland. Father's possible first name might be Thomas from Nenaugh, Tipperary. Mary Ann died in 1950 in Akron, Ohio, U.S.A. Thank you!
Hello, there is really no way of determining her parents unless they were on her marriage or death certificate, I do a baptismal search for Ireland (church records only available) and the vast majority of Fogarty baptismes 1828 to 1842 were in Tipperary or neighbouring counties. THe family may have had significance if she married into a marrige of note, there is a Tipperary History website and they may assist, also some Tipperary private Facebook genealogy groups.
