Searching for John Cullen

I am helping a friend with her Irish ancestry.  We are desperately looking for information on the following individuals:

John H. Cullen, b.  ~1870 and Elizabeth McNamee, b. ~1868.  They emigrated to the US, where their first child was born in 1895; I'm guessing between 1990 and 1995.  Without more information about their place of birth in Ireland, it's almost impossible to narrow down the search. FamilySearch, Ancestry, irishgenealogy.ie simply provide too many hits.  Hopefully, someone here has researched them before and can help us out.

Their children:

  1. Agnes, born 23 Sep 1895 in Manhattan, New York City (NYC)
  2. Elizabeth, born 8 Feb 1897 in Manhattan, NYC, married Francis Brennan on 19 Jul 1919 in Manhattan, and died 19 Jun 1972, also in NYC
  3. Catherine "Kate", born 5 Jan 1899 in Manhattan, married George Commons on 30 May 1920 in NYC, died in 1958 in NYC
  4. Margaret, born 23 Aug 1900 in Manhattan, married Frederick Ruddy on 8 Jul 1919 in Manhattan, and Walter Crawford on 9 Sep 1926 in Larchmont, New York State, died 17 Mar 1950 in New Rochelle, New York State.

Unfortunately, none of their vital records or newspaper articles provides for the County/District/Parish of their parents birth and or marriage.

Perhaps Cullen and Collins are the same.

RootsIreland (paid subscription). I did not find John, but they had a son Daniel 1837, sponsors John and Ann Cullen, and daughter Margaret 1839

Patricia makes sense. There might overtime be a Cullin and Collin connection.
