Searching for birth and marriage records for Thomas Sharp

Thomas Sharp was married to Anna (sometimes shown as Ellen) .  His birth appears to have been around 1800.    His son Henry was born in 1826.  He was from the northern counties but I have been unable to find any more detail.  I have been to Ireland twice trying to find more specific information without luck.  He emigrated to the US around 1855. I hope to make one more trip with more success if I can find any little tidbit of information.  He was Protestant, as even in the third generation, my family all wore orange on St. Patrick’s Day in the US.

Sally,

I found this record on RootsIreland (paid subscription). Do you know what Thomas did for a living? Did he bring his family to America? Where did they settle? Did Thomas and Ann have other children (names and birthdates)? Have you checked Thomas', Ann's or Henry's death records? Sometimes they include parent names and where they are from. Henry's marriage record might include helpful info.
