Hello Calla, there are school records online on Ancestry supposedly including Carlingford but I did not see any to your previous query, also Drumullagh is more in Omeath than Carlingford but not sure how the C of I parishes are divided.
If the good Lord Anglessy estate records survive they may be in the National Archives but a visit would be required, it is currently being incorporated into the National Library I understand. The Louth library do not include school registers in their listings and at the remove you are considering it is unusual to find any, see https://www.louthcoco.ie/en/services/library/reference-local-history-resources/
A check with the Representative Church Body Library may assist but I do not think they have anything other than church records and minutes, see https://www.churchofireland.org/about/rcb-library
You could also check for wills etc and it is worthwhile to also check PRONI see https://apps.proni.gov.uk/WillsCalendar_IE/WillsSearch.aspx
As a matter of interest there was a lot of migration from the area to St John, New Brunswick towards the latter part of the 1820s and there was a book on it but not available, published in New Brunswick, the author was on this site about 5 years ago and said he had a lot more information. There is a site on Louth here but cannot see your name, see https://jbhall.clahs.ie/
Also it might be worth asking the Carlingford Heritage Centre, see https://carlingfordheritagecentre.com/
Good Luck
Pat
Wow, thank you Pat. That is a lot of information. I have had several subscriptions to paid sites over the years but no longer have access to any so try to glean what I can from free sites. I have looked at maps, old and new of Drummullagh. The area McLeavey's lived in on the Griffiths valuation register are now just wasteland. They lived in the triangular section of land between Flagstaff Road, Cornamucklagh and the road leading to Quarvue Farmhouse. I have found a few baptisms and also one marriage all listed as Drummullagh (various spellings)..The census links state the family were from Carlingford. However, I have also searched O'Meath, Co Louth.
Wills would be a bit of a stretch for the McLeaveys, they didn't have two ha'pennies to rub together, poor souls. Occupations were boatmen, fishermen, flower girl.
As I do not know of any siblings for Hugh or Sarah McLeavey I have yet to discover any American (or other country) links. I do think there are children unaccounted for as those I know of would have been born in the later years of Hugh and Sarah's marriage. Hence, hoping for pre 1835 bmd's.
A trip to Ireland would be grand but unfortunately not something I can do at the moment.
My info on Hugh McLeavey has now been added to the 'Ancestors Stories' page.
I will check out all the links you have very generously provided. Thank you.
