Richard Lowry born c.1813

My great grandfather was John Lowry born in Co. Tyrone c1842. He was the son of Richard and Sarah Lowry nee Lyttle who lived at Tattymacsll near Lisbellaw Co. Fermanagh from about mid 1850's until their deaths in 1895 and 1905 respectively.

Richard and Sarah Lowry were married in Co. Tyrone in 1836 (Marriage Licence Bonds diocese ofArmagh). I would like to know who Richard Lowry's parents were and whether they had any connection to the Lowry family of Pomeroy. Any information about the Lowry and Lyttle families that would move my research forward would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Noel, looking at old queries and you do not mention religion as we rely mainly on religious records at that remove, there are various start dates and gaps etc plus about 40% plus of Church of Ireland records were lost in the civil way when the public records office was attacked in Dublin. 

Pre civil registration in 1864 for all and 1845 for Protestant marriages it was not usual for the parents names to be recorded, sometimes happened. So even if we found a baptism we could not be sure it was the person in questino as often there were more than one of the name baptised in the time period.
