Reilly / Riley Family

LeitrimCarrigallen (Leitrim)

Hello,

I am a descendant of Patrick Riley (original spelling may have been Reilly). I believe Patrick was originally from Carrigallen and born circa 1840. His parents were James Riley and Catherine Higgins. Patrick arrived in Boston, Massachusetts in 1857. A brother, Thomas Riley, also came to Boston. Patrick eventually married Catherine McGovern (originally from Cavan). I've visited Carrigallen and have limited information on the Reilly family. However, I would greatly enjoy it if anyone has any additional information and would be willing to share. Thanks.

Hi Bob,

I couldn't find Patrick or Thomas on www.rootsireland.ie/ but did find a sibling:

Name:James ReillyDate of Birth:
Date of Baptism:25-Oct-1850Address:CurglassParish/District:CARRIGALLEN ROMAN CATHOLICGender:MaleCountyCo. Leitrim
Denomination:Roman Catholic
Father:James ReillyMother:Catherine Higgins

No luck with parents' marriage but registers.nli.ie/ have Carrigallen R C baptism & marriage records freely available if you haven't already tried them.
