Questions about Fitzgerald ancestry for Clooncan, Roscommon

Hello,

Looking to find/share information on the Fitzgerald family of Clooncan, possibly Cloonfower, Roscommon.

I think my 2x great grandmother may have been part of this family -- a daughter of Michael Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Quigley. She was Margaret Fitzgerald born about 22 Jun 1829.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Susan,

On the paid site, Roots Ireland, I found the marriage record for Michael and Elizabeth as well as birth records for six children. All records are from the RC parish of St. Peter's/Athlone which is on the east side of Roscommon, and borders the county of Westmeath. Clooncan and Cloonfower town lands are in the RC parish of Kilkeevin which is on the opposite side of Roscommon, and borders county Mayo. So, I don't think the Fitzgeralds you are seeking are from there. Here are the records:

Michael Fitzgerald & Elizabeth Quigley married 17 Jul 1825, St. Peter's Athlone. No residence or parents' names given.

Children (all baptized in the RC parish of St. Peter's Athlone).

Michael - 20 Sep 1826; Margaret - 22 Jun 1829, James - 29 Jan 1832, Patrick - 15 Mar 1835, Richard - 1 Apr 1838, and Luke - 19 Aug 1841

Regards,

Carolyn
