port of departure for emigrants leaving Ireland

Hello! one of my Irish ancestors left Ireland around 1818 for Canada - what Irish port/city would immigrants have typically left from at that time? and what port would immigrants have typically arrived at in Canada (I have traced them to Ontario (Durham County).

Hi-

You might want to share more information about your ancestor. Their name, birth year, where they were born, info about his family that travelled with him, parent names, if married wife's name (was it in Ireland), Where he settled in Canada and where he died. Any children to connect back to?
