Looking for John Plunkett born in Ireland about 1824, married to Mary Nugent, also born in Ireland about 1827. Found in 1855 New York State Census living in Brooklyn. Mary's brother, Michael, was also living with them.

I checked Roots Ireland and there are 17 John Plunket/Plunkett baptismal records from 1819-1829 in Ireland.The records were mostly in Louth, Wicklow, Roscommon, Westmeath and Meath.
There are about 100 Mary Nugents in Ireland from 1822-1832.
In either situation, we would need parents names to narrow the possibilities.

That's exactly my problem, I have no clue. I've looked for marriage records that might help and have come up empty handed. This has been a brick wall for close to twenty years, going back to a family story about a "Plunkett family castle." I have gone down the Dunsany route too many times and then found Castle Plunkett in Roscommon and secretly believe the story was mistold/misinterpreted/embellished.
I have found a Nugent family in Newcastle that had a Mary and Michael born in the appropriate years to the same family. I have no additional clues for John Plunkett though.
