My name is Kathy Johnstone. I am currently visiting from Australia. I will be in Ennistymon on July 27 and 28. I believe. my 2nd great grandfather Patrick William O'Brien was born in 1846 in Ennistymon. He died in Australia in 1916. His wife was Elizabeth Mary Murphy. His father's name was Thomas
I know O'Brien is a very common name but I wonder if there is anyone in Ennistymon who may recognize those names. Thankyou.
Kathy,
Clare heritage and genealogy centre which is located in Corrofin may be able to assist you. There is a fee. It has most of the baptism records for County Clare.
It is located off the Ennistymon to Ennis road.
Regards
At rootsireland, I searched for the baptism of Patrick with father Thomas, born 1841-1851. There was one result. However, I cannot state that this is definitely your ancestor, as there may be other Clare baptismal records that are not available or do not exist.
