The Patrick O'Connor family of Clonmacnoise Co. Offaly

My grandmother Catherine O'Connor immigrated to New Jersey USA in the early 1920s. She is the daughter of Patrick O'Connor b. April 3,1862 and Mary Dolan b 1889 Clonlyn Co Offaly married Feb 14,1900.(Church records www.rootsireland.ie). Catherine also known as Kitty was born in Clonmacnoise. She was the second of 16 children.  In the 1911 census she is listed as living with her grandparents James Dolan and Catherine Claffey of Clonlyn.  A lot of the information that I have is what my grandmother has told me.  She still has one sister living.  I would love to connect to the extended family still in Ireland.  Catherine was one of three of her siblings that came to the US.  The other two were Andrew and James.  Andrew never married.  James married but did not have children.

Any information on the O'Connor family would be appreciated.

I understand that Patrick and Mary are buried in the old cemetery at Clonmacnoise and some of their children are in both the old and new cemeteries. I was wondering if the are any records from the cemetery.

Hello Patricia,

we are starting to record the Offaly graveyards digitally so we will get around to Clonmacnoise -- it will take some time as we have just begun but keep www.historicgraves.ie as a reference and eventually the headstone inscriptions and photos will be up there.

Hi Patricia
My grandmother Mary Bridget Harrington nee Connor was Kitty Conors sister. I can remember relatives of Kitty's visiting from New Jersey.
