Patrick Fahey b.1798 in Cloghan Castle

I'm looking for information on my 2x great grandfather, Patrick Fahey. Per his headstone, he was born in 1798 in Cloghan Castle, Kings County. He came to the US and settled in Onalaska, Wisconsin. He married Anna Ryan.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Laura,

Do you know the names of the parents of Patrick Fahey and Anna Ryan.

The surname Fahey/Fahy is associated with County Galway and Ryan with County Tipperary.

I have searched Roots Ireland and Find my past for Fahey/Fahy, Cloghan Castle with negative results.

Dr. Jane Lyons has a report on a "Fahey" burial in the catholic parish of Lusmagh - graveyard Kilmachonna.

It is likely that Patrick's parents were servants in Cloghan Castle!

Laura,

Transcript of "Fahey" headstone in Kilmachonna by Dr. Jane Lyons.

Thank you, McCoy for your quick attention to my post. Unfortunately I do not know Patrick's parents names and there is nobody of the previous generations left to ask.

I did make a mistake - his wife was Catherine Ryan. One of their daughters was Anna.

Laura,

Attached record of the surname Fahey in Onalaska - 1870 census. Could there be a connection?

Do you have the marriage record of Patrick Fahey and Catherine Ryan. It should show the witnesses to the marriage, also the death records of Patrick and Catherine. Are there any other names on the gravestone?

Baptismal records of their children should show the names of the sponsors.

Regards,

McCoy

Hi McCoy.

Yes, the Faheys in Onalaska are my relatives and who I'm asking about. Catherine (nee Ryan) was born in Lughmas, County Kings in April 2, 1801.

I haven't been able to find any baptismal records of Catherine and Patrick's children yet. Unfortunately, no relatives alive left to ask.
