Parishes in Galway

I am gettingb frustrated with trying to add kin to XO people. The main problem at the moment is that it will not accept the Parishes I enter, though I have checked on the goolge machine and taken them from a IGV and a death record. Sometimes we only have information of the county our kin came from. Following is copied from an Ancestry record. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Bel,

Not sure what your difficulty is.

Ballinasloe that you refer to is the Parish. There may have been other smaller church areas within the Parish but ultimately all records would appear in parent church. In some cases records may be state Parish name, other instances may state the Saint name that the church was dedicated to i.e St. Michaels.

There are two possible parishes you can connect to: as Gerlish indicates there is the RC parish of Ballinasloe and the first link is the parish page for Ballinasloe. We also have a parish page for the civl parish of Kilcloony (second link)
