I am looking for the region my great grandparents came from, Thomas murphy married my great grandmother bridget mcgrath. In the late 1800's they moved to wandsworth in london where my grandfather daniel murphy was born. I havent been able to trace any records in Ireland, and don't know where to begin. I would very much appreciate any help in how, and where, to begin my journey into finding my Irish roots.
Pam, I done a search on Roots Ireland and found abo.ut 5 Thomas Murphy / McGrath marriages but none to a Bridget, both common names unfortunately, civil marriages from 1864 are free to view here but you can only search by one name and there are about 1,000 Thomas Murphy marriages to 1900, if you care to look through them all to see this is the site, I have looked at about 100 to no avail.
