O'Neill, Neylon, Murphy, Devitt, Lynch

Hello,

I'm new to this group excuse mistakes (Spelling!)  or not adding info correctly.

I am looking for my Gr Gr Grandmother's name.  My Grandfather was Martin O'Neill, His father was Connor O'Neill.  He had at least 9 children.   I am not sure if this was his name  or Cornelius perhaps middle name with first name Thomas?  I say this for his siblings first born and his children's first born son's names.

His son Michael was born abt. 1822  in Leckaun, Kilnamona Married Mary Neylon 1857.

His Son Cornelius born 1831 born same place 1831 died Dysart 1891.

He married Mary Maria Murphy  born 1851 Sheeaun, Kilmaley.

I have other children listed for him as well.

My Grandfather Martin O'Neill born 1838-39 Died in Ennis..  I have all his records and children's names many went to NY including my Grandmother.  Have good records for them except a few slippery ones!!

OK..  I have no idea if  Connor's children all have the same mother.

I'm getting alot of DNA hints for O'Brien, McNamara, Kennedy ect.

I'm also at a Brick wall with Martin's wife Mary Devitt born about 1847 in Letteragh,   I believe her father was John and mother Ellen Lynch living in Inagh West?  I know quite a few Lynch and Devitt family went to Australia, and have DNA matches, although they state they are from other area's, perhaps ship's records states  where they were living during hard times and passage records?

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Thank you and hoping others may have connections!

Kathleen,

Subscription Site www.rootsireland.ie has a record of the marriage of John Devitt and Ellen Lynch on February 8th 1846 in Kilmaley.

Witnesses: James Lynch and Pat Costello.

McCoy

Thank you so much McCoy! Taking the time for me and finding this! Does it mention parents by any chance? Hopefully I will be able to access it soon! Hopefully that is where Mary, Michael and John were baptized!

Kathleen,

Parents names were not recorded. Civil records in Ireland are from January 1st 1864. They record parents names. Church records do not .

Baptism records are from 1850 in Inagh- Kilnamona.

Marriage for Michael O'Neil (Transcription) to Mary Neylon in Inagh on February 24th 1857.

Witnesses: Martin Neylon and Connor O'Neil.

Regards,

McCoy

This is super info.  It's been quite a few years since I've been able to get back into family history and meeting cousins, from Gr Gr Granduncles and Grandaunts!

I'm just now discovering all the new records available online including land records  which is bringing me back further Perhaps 4 or 5 generations. Have to go back into

my old files for name changes for the area.   Took me a bit to figure out how to input info on Ireland Genealogy Kept saying No Data found.  Now just to figure out how to

make the letters a bit larger not huge!  :)

Thank you!

Kathee

Hello McCoy!

You have given me my Maternal line with the Devitt Lynch with the marriage of Ellen and John Thank you . If I may ask?  I'm at a brick wall with Martin O'Neill's parents. He was born about 1839 in about Inagh, Kilnamona County Clare, To Connor O'Neill.   I wish I could find his mother's name and my Gr GrGranmother.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Kathee ( Kathleen)
