O'Gara Kilcar cemetery

Hello.

can anyone help please.I found the following refrerences regarding Kilcar Cemetery

John O'Gara Kilcar plot 23 section 2

Widow Gara Derrylahan plot 53 section 2

Hugh Gara Kilcar plot 54 section 2

William Gara Crove plot 55 section 2

Robert Gara Leiter plot 38 section 4

Owen Gara Roxborough plot 20 section 6

does anyone have more details from burial register like age, date of death etc

I did visit the graveyard many years ago and noted some of the headstone inscriptons. I don' t think there are any head stones for the above ? Also these names like Hugh, John etc are common in Kilcar

I assume that the Robert is the same Robert in Griffths Valuation.Also Owen from Roxborough who died in 1878

any other details of the above will be appeciated

Joe,

You probably have these records, but they might help other volunteers.

Joe,

There is a tree on Ancestry (john p. garrah) with a William O"Gara (Crove) 1836-1909, died in Luzerne, Pennsylvania. His parents were Hugh O'Gara 1793-1878 and Mary Ann Cunningham 1798-1878. Perhaps the three plots together you mentioned above?? William married Margaret Mary Molloy in 1856.

Maybe Mary Cunningham O'Gara

The tree on Ancestry suggests Owen's father was John and he died in Kilcar

Mary, once again thanks. I thought that the Owen Gara from Roxborogh was the son of Neal Gara in 1836 tithes Roxborough ?

Joe,

Trees aren't always correct. There is very little documentation from the 1700s- early 1800s to support connections. Per the tree, Owen married Hannah Cunningham, children- Hannah 1810-1894, Owen 1810-1874, Bridget (Biddy) 1812-1885, and Rev. Thomas O'Gara 1827-1877, died in Chicago.

Possibly your Robert

I think that this is a different Owen,This Owen married to Hannah Cunningham was a brother of Hugh Gara who marrired Mary Cunningham.They married two sisters.They are connected to Chestnut, Derrylahan and Meenadiff

As I said earlier, so many Hugh , John .Owen etc. thats why I want more info on those cemetery records

                                                                                  Thanks Joe
