Hello, I am looking for information on my great great grandfather John O’Briens family. His parents were Jeremiah O’Brien and Mary O’Donnell O’Brien. John immigrated to the Canandaigua, New York or possibly Hopewell, New York area between 1854 and 1856. He also lived in Rochester, New York. He died in 1930 in Canandaigua, New York.

Hello! I have been told that there’s a baptism record for December 8, 1838 for John son of Jeremiah and Mary M Donnell or McDonnell. Apparently it’s not very legible. It shows sponsors as Jeremiah Mahoney andJohanna Brien. I wonder if she could be a sister of John.
And then there’s a marriage record I was told for Jeremiah Brien and Mary Donald dated February 10, 1838 and the witnesses were John and James Donnell so I am assuming that John was their first child. I do not have any other information about siblings. I don’t know if he named any of his children after his siblings, but his children were Mary, Margaret, Julia, Jeremiah, Michael, Honora, John, Bridget, Edward, William, Thomas, kathryn, Joseph, Frederick. There may also have been a Hannah.

The baptismal record for John Brien was in the RC parish of Muintervara which is in West Cork two parishes northwest of Schull East where the marriage occurred
Johanna Brien would have been a sister to Jeremiah.
I did find a baptismal record for a sister of John. See below.
