New Ross/Wexford Doyle Genealogy

My 4X Catholic great grandfather Michael Doyle was born in New Ross/Wexford in 1783 - 1787. His father's name may have been Garrett, born in 1765 in New Ross/Wexford (?). Michael arrived in Newfoundland in 1808. I have a family tree which shows he settled in Ingonish, Cape Breton in the fall of 1808. I do not have any records of his 'life' or family in New Ross/Wexford and am looking for some help. I have consulted with EPIC and their genealogists as well as searching several websites including NLI and available church records but have not achieved any results and am looking for guidance or assistance to help me in my search. Thank you

Gerard

Gerard:

The RC baptismal records for New Ross go way back (November 1789) but not far enough for Michael Doyle. https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0604?locale=en

The 1825 Tithe Applotment listings for St. Mary's civil parish (which includes New Ross) shows a Garrett Doyle leasing 30 acres of land in Ryleen which is a townland in St. Mary's parish. Likely this is your ancestor.
