Patrick Nailon was born in County Cork 1769 to Norman Hugh Nailon and Bonnie Imus. Norman was born 1749 and Bonnie about 1750. Both we assume died in County Cork. I hope you can find more information of this branch of my family. What they did, where they lived, anything would be great.

These are unique names. I searched the database of Historicgraves.com for these names and they have yet to be recorded on headstones in Ireland. This does not mean they were not present as the database is incomplete and only contains headstones that are still legible today. I've also searched Griffith's valuation and there are no Nailons or Imus recorded in Ireland in the 1850s. A lot of this may come down to spelling. Irish surname spellings didn't settle until the late 1800s so it may be the case that they are just ergistered as something different.
I think it would be worth your while to get in touch with Cork Historical and Archaeological Society. Link here: https://corkhist.ie/ They may have local experts with an interest in naming and genaology who might be able to help you!

I had hoped their unusual names would be helpful. Even in family records, Naillon is spelled differently and Imus is not common. I will contact Cork as you suggested. Thank you for your efforts which are so appreciated.
Patrick is my 5th Great Grandfather. My family has been settled in Asheville NC, USA since he came to America. I was googling what his parents name were, and came across this! I want so much to visit County Cork one day and visit where my family came from! Everything here shows our last name spelling in the USA as Naillon when Patrick came here. I am a Nelon, with the spelling changing over the years.
