William John Geoghan, born 1815 in Kings County, was my great great grandfather and I’d love to get information of his life in Ireland before he came to, firstly Australia, where he married a Margaret Kerwin in 1828, and then moved to New Zealand where he settled and died in 1897,
I know he was in the 15th Hussars but have nothing else about any family members.
Please check birth and marriage dates. Current dates make him 13 at time of marriage.

Ronny,
There are 54 trees on Ancestry. Most identify Offaly as William's birthplace but some show Antrim. None of them identify parents or info about his time in Ireland. On RootsIreland, I noticed marriages in the 1850s in Ballymena, Antrim with variations of William's last name, perhaps cousins or siblings. You can subscribe to RootsIreland for 24 hours if you decide to research further.
