My 3GGPs - Timothy Murphy (c.1785- >1852) & Joanna Lenihan (1788-?)

Records for the RC parish of Donaghmore (Lislee) are not on the free site irishgenealogy.ie or the subscription site Roots Ireland. They are available on two other subscriptions sites-Ancestry.com (World subscription) and FindMyPast.ie

I located the marriage record in the RC parish of Donaghmore (Lislee). The date was March 1 1810. Joanna was shown as Joan Linehan. Witnesses were William Murphy and Dan Mahony.

Still searching for baptismal records. Located six so far.

Roger , Im going to donate some money as youve been doing a sterling job identifying my forebears . Is there a specific church in Donaghmore where Timothy  and Joan actually got married in which I can visit ? Donaghmore is the Townland - is it also a village/town?I’d love to know where they’re both buried - probably around Donoughmore ( Bunkilla Farmlands ) from  where Timothy and brother in law Timothy Linehan were evicted in Feb 1849 by English landlord, Henry Wyse, along w 30 other such tenant farmers ? Cheers,R. I never realised there were two distinct Townlands  or parishes - I thought they were just  spelling variations of the same place . Mea culpa.

Timoteo:

Donaghmore is a civil parish which contains 42 townlands. (Townlands are the smallest land divisions in Ireland and are usually between 100 and 100 acres). One of the townlands in the parish was Bunkilla (393 acres).

The RC parish of Donaghmore/Lislee/.Courtmacsherry/Abbeymahon  had a number of chapels. The current parish is Barryroe  https://corkandross.org/parishes/barryroe

Very likely the church from1810 is in ruins but the Barryroe parish office may be of assistance regarding its location.

I have not found any more baptismal records for children. The records I found are:

Elizabeth baptized 2/25/1811 Timothy 03/01/1812 John 7/16/1820 Darby 1/19/1824 Honora 7/12/1826 Joanna 11/22/1831.

Eileen , I cannot thank you enough for sending me this article   Through My Heritage which I am now no longer a subscriber , I have met  John R Linnahan online  as my late father and he are 4th cousins as they share the same 3GGPs, Daniel John Linehan (1750-1828) and Margaret Elizabeth Ludgate (1749-c.1820). I have just sent John email congratulating him as well as tell him your colleague , Roger , has now corrected a longstanding belief that my 3GGPsTimothy Murphy (c1785->1852) and  Joana Lenihan (1788-?) were married  in Bunkilla Donoughmore when it is actually Bunkilla Townland in Donaghmore Civil Jurisdiction in SW  not mid - Cork . Cheers, once again , TM 🇦🇺
