I think it is unlikely that Catherine Delea was born in Clonakilty in 1810. She would have been 15 at marriage and although not impossible, it is unlikely. She was probably baptized in Aghabulloge, however, their baptismal records start in 1820 so no records available. Same with John Murphy and even it he was from another parish, there are so many John Murphy records that you need his parents names to check. On two subscription sites, I can only find baptismal records for the first three sons. Did they leave the Coachford/Aghabulloge area after John was born and where did they end up? Wexford?

Roger, to the best of my knowledge John Edward Murphy , my 3GGF, stayed in the Coachford, Nadrid & Magourney area all his life . I’ve found him on Griffiths Valuations on 23 Oct 1852 :’Residence 1-Coachford Village, part of Nadrid, Magourney , MacRoom’ : ‘Residence 1- MacRoom, East Muskerry , Cork,Geoffrey Connell - landlord; Residence 2- Nettlefield , Desmesne,, Cannaway, MacRoom, East Muskerry , Cork, Michael Murphy - Landlord’. I have a tentative DoD of Jan 8 1858 w burial in Kilmurry cemetery but unsubstantiated atm for JEM. When JEM and Catharine Delea’s  eldest child , my 2GGF, Edward John Murphy  was baptised on Sept 4 1826 in Aghabulloge, the sponsors are listed as John M and Mary Ann Murphy - they could be JEM’s parents , uncle and aunt or older brother and sister- in- law. If JEM is indeed interred in Kilmurry cemetery , is it probable that he  hails from Kilmurry area ? Cheers yet again , regards , TM PS my late GA’s diary claims that JEM was store keeper / farmer in Coachford area which his eldest son , EJM, took over for a while before forays in Dublin and latterly Taeghmon , Wexford
