Am trying to trace my grandmother's maiden name and first name who lived in the the house opposite the Church of Ireland church in Bilboa Co Carlow. My father, Bill ( William George Nevin was her son and two daughters survived, Clara Nevin and Doris. Both became nurses in Dublin before emigrating.
Any information will be appreciated.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
What was the name of your grandfather? Do you know the marriage year? What was the religious denomination of your family? I did find a McNevin family in the 1911 census in Carlow town which may be a connection. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Carlow/Carlow_Urban/Co…
FYI. Our privacy rules prevent us from providing any info on living individuals. If you can provide info on your grandfather, we can see if the marriage record is available.
Also, the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie has civil birth records from 1864-1916 and marriage records from 1870-1941.

Hi Roger,
Thank you for the reply. The family was Church of Ireland. My Grandmother worked at the church in Bilboa, and did the cleaning and flowers. They moved from Dublin to Coolbanagher in Co. Laois and then to Bilboa. As far as I know my father had a brother, Thomas who with four sisters died of TB in Dublin. His two sisters, Clara and Doris survived. I don't know my granfathers name or my granmother's first name or maiden name. She died in England, around 1960 in Worcester where Clara was living. Her husband was Harry Ball.
Theire neighbours in Bilboa were the Grahams, dairy farmers and had 11 sons, as far as I remember.
Any help will be appreciated. My father married Ruth Kelly in Rathgar church on 16 August 1944, I cannot trace that in the records.

Hi Roger,
Thanks so much for that info. I have, as a result, tra
cked Doris Nevin, Clara and my Dad's records, and my grandmother and grandfather. Before that, Irish records are very sketchy, but am still working on it. You certainly have been a great help. I now know that Doris Nevin, who died in US, I found a death notice, in which I am mentioned as a survivor, which gave me my grandmothers maiden name, and her husband's first name. He was also William Nevin. To trace further back is proving difficult. It seems there was a Census in Ireland in 1901 and 1911. Nothing after that.
However, we will continue, and thanks again for your kind assistance. Any further news I will let you know.
Best for now.
Kind regards,
Roger
