Morrison/Tobin -Bruree

Hello l am new to this site, so hope I am following the correct protocol, I am a 74 year old from Liverpool and am researching my ancestors.

Tobin/Morrison marriage 2/10/1898

Bruree/Rockhill - Fortyacres

These I believe to be my Great Grandparents

Would there be any relatives in Bruree area still living who have relatives Michael Tobin/Johanna Morrisson. I have posted full information of research on previous posts, and trying to establish if the link to family at Fortyacres are related. Also some reference to Kilinfane. Johanna is documented born 1880 but record relates 1875. If the family of Tobin/ Morrisson had other children Patrick & Mary Ann (and are related) trying to trace why Johanna arrives in Liverpool 1900/01 with no children? Then has my father in 1907 - would really be grateful for any information or links. My research seems to show Michael Tobin died 1920, my father would never have known his father.

Peter:

The parents of Johanna Morrisson died in 1907 (Edmond) and 1909 (Johanna).

The 1911 census for Forty Acres has Edmond Morrisson brother of Johanna and a nephew Patrick age 17 and Mary Anne Tobin age 11. Mary Anne would be the child born in 1900 (record provided by Mary TV). We don't know why she was left in Ireland if Johanna Tobin went to England.

I did not locate a marriage record for the younger Edmond or Patrick. Also, no marriage record for Mary Tobin in the Bruree district.

The 1926 census is coming out in six months. You should check to see if anyone remained in Forty Acres.

Thank you for all this information, most of it I had already sourced, but that had been over a number of years, flabbergasted that you supply such detail in a very short time -Thank you.

i have a record of Michael Tobin ( 12/07/1875) dying

17/05/1920 age 43 (married??) in Kilmallock Workhouse (assuming this was my g/dad). If so would it be they were not allowed to divorce??

Reference the children Patrick and Mary Anne both on 1901 census as TOBIN… but on the 1911 census it appears Patrick has changed his name to MORRISON, if that is the case would there be any ‘ legal’ documentation or records I could access. I also note that Patrick was present at his grandmother’s (Johanna) death and he registered the death as grandson (Morrison)

Peter,

Not sure I can answer your questions.

Michael Tobin is identified on Michael Tobin's birth record in England 1907 Assuming this is correct. Perhaps Michael went originally to England with Johanna? Are you sure the 1920 death for Michael is correct? Could he have died in England, and she married William Edward by the 1911 census.

There was a Patrick Morrison born in 1895 to Johanna Morrison. Could this be the Patrick Tobin/ Morrison on the 1901/ 1911 censuses? Perhaps they temporarily called him Tobin after her marriage to Michael Tobin in 1898. Record from RootsIreland (paid subscription).

Also, Johanna, Ellen, and Edmond had several siblings. Could they have had a son Patrick on the 1911 census living with Edmond- Patrick 1862, Mary 1864, John1868, Julia 1871, Thomas 1872?

Just some thoughts- Mary

MY father Michael Tobin (born 1907) liverpool -- birth register shows mother Johanna Morrison and Father Michael Tobin, altough i cannot find and other reference to elder Michael. it seems odd that census shows that

Patrick and Mary still at  Forty  Acres census 1901/1911, although Patrick changes name to mothers maiden name-Morrison.

Because my grandmother Johanna Morrison marries EDWARDS in liverpool 1907, and registers as Spinster, when may Father Michael would have only been about 4 months, suggests Johanna maybe pregnant some time in JUNE 1906 ( and agian registers my Fathers, Father as TOBIN ? cannot find any detail of Micheal Snr coming to liverpol and find it odd that MARY/PATRICK remain in Ireland.

Assume there is a story as to why PATRICK chaned his name by 1911 (censuS).I do not have ROOTS Ireland, but cannot find Patricks birth/baptism records anywhere, some one posted there is a note on ROOTS record that Patrick may have been Illigitamate.I Ddo know he joined Royal munster Fusiliers in 1913 under Morrison
