Micheal Patrick Murphy / Catherine E Mahoney

Micheal Patrick Murphy / Catherine E Mahoney

Looking County and or Parish for the date of birth and if they were married if Ireland. I have conflicting information on the 1900 US Census on Catherine. It reads she was born 1865 in Ireland, Immigrated to the USA in 1882, married in 1886. with that information they were not married in Ireland. Now,I have a list showing the first child was born in Ireland [Hanna Murphy], but if you take Immigration date and Marriage date again it would conclude Micheal and Catherine were not married in Ireland. The first child born in America was Mary Joesphine Murphy in 1886. second child born in America Jeremiah 1888, Third, Catherine Rose Murphy, Fourth, Ellen Theresa Murphy, who is my Grand Mother, fifth, Margaret Murphy [Died at birth] Sixth, Elizabeth [Died at birth] and lastly James Murphy March 17, 1896. I do have records of my Grand Mother Ellen and her sister being placed on a Orphan Train and were adopted by two different familys one in [Ellen T] North Dakota, USA and [Catherine Rose] South Dakota, USA

I have been running into dead ends every turn I take.

Thank you. That puts a different perspective on the records I found on Ancestory.com which don't coencide with the some papers I was cleaning out of my fathers files after he past. Yes, the Murphy sir name is a challenge and to make it worst my grandmother, Ellen and her sister, Catherine were put on a orphan train out of Boston and no records to show when or why.

Finding more information on my great grandparents, Michael Murphy and Kate or (Catherine) Mahoney I have records of their marriage that took place at St Mary Catholic church in Cork County town of Innishannon, with a date of 21/2/1882. This information was confirmed after I contacted St. Mary church in Innishannon.  Fathers of the bride and groom were, Jerimiah Murphy and James Mahoney. I have not been able to find the mothers name for the couple or any records where the parents would have lived. I would like to delve farther into the lineage to connect the all the dots. I also haven't been able to locate any ships records as to when Michael and Kate traveled to the United States. They would have had one daughter born in Ireland on 5/12/1882, named Hannah with them. Their 1st child born in America was on 16/12/1886. Somewhere between 1883 and 1886 they would have traveled to the United States.
