Michael Sweeney

I am posting this message on behalf of my 4th cousin in the hope that someone can help. Her great grandfather was called Michael Sweeney, his parents’ were Michael Sweeney+ Jane Buchanan, both born in Ireland although she does not know where. (Possibly Donegal!). The younger one was born around 1835. This is the only information we have.

Regards

Dee

I was contacted by a 4th cousin after a dna test and it appeared our connection was thro the Sweeney line although I have no Michael’s in it.

i was told Michael was probably born in Ireland in 1839 his parents were Michael and Jane Buchanan.  They may have been born in Donegal area.

young Michael married Agnes Berry in 1859 in Dumbartonshire   He deserted Agnes some years later leaving her with young children so she went to live with her family in Neilson Parish, Renfrewshire.

not a lot of help, sorry.

Dee
