My grandfather was a Thomas Donovan. Born in Tarbert in 1879. He enlisted in the British Navy and jumped ship in NYC around 1906. He married Ellen Wallace there and died as a widower in New York City in 1925. Hope this can help. Kind regards, Paul Donovan.
