McTaggart/McTeggart Aghyoule, Kinawley

Looking for descendants of McTaggart (var spellings) family who lived in Aghyoule townland, near Derrylin, Co Fermanagh. Thomas and Susan McTaggart were there in the 1850s (Griffiths), their son Patrick, a cooper, and his wife Annie (nee McManus) and their 12 children were there in the mid to late 1800s and into the early 1900s - some of the family were in 1901 and 1911 Census's. After 1911 the family dispersed and I am trying to document what happened to them. Any help appreciated. Liam

Sarah Jane married Thomas Gunn in 1920:

The Valuation revision records on the PRONI website list the family farm. It was plot 20, a 17 acre property. Ann’s name is deleted in 1923 suggesting she died around that time. She was replaced by Eugene McEntaggert who was evidently still there in 1929 when those records stop.

I don’t know whether this is Eugene’s probate abstract but the age fits perfectly:

McTeggart, Eugene otherwise Owen of Lebally county Fermanagh retired farmer died 13 July 1962 at Castlederg county Tyrone Probate Belfast 28 September to James McConnell law clerk. Effects £186 15s.

His will should be in PRONI. If get it, it should tell you what dependants he left. It;s not on-line but is free to view if you go in person. Or you can pay PRONI to copy it.

If you use Ancestry (or can access it at a library), there are many public member trees for this family. They include information about descendants of Susan and Thomas. Those who have posted the trees are likely descendants themselves, and you can contact them directly. Good luck.

My relative was a Joseph McTaggart from Aghyoule. There were several McTaggart families in Aghyoule at the time. Joseph died in 1920 but how he may have been related to Thomas and Susan McTaggart I'm not sure - perhaps their son, or, more likely, their grandson. 

Joseph married a Bridget Murray and they had three children - Thomas (b.1896), Mary (b.1897) and Patrick (b.1899). I don't have any information on what happened to them beyond that Mary married in 1923 and died in 1948.
