Hello. My name is Susan McGinn Gerardi. My 2nd great grandfather was Lawrence McGinn. He was born in Ireland in 1817. I do not know the county of his birth or family history before he arrived in the U.S. In 1839 on the Bark Andromida. Port of departure was Liverpool. I have not been successful tracing him back to Ireland. Any help you can give me is very greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Finding church baptismal records back to 1817 is generally difficult because many churches do not have records back that far. I did check the subscription site Roots Ireland but got no record.
Have you considered DNA testing?
