Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched on Roots Ireland and also another data base and could not find a baptismal record for a Bridget McDonald/McDonnell with father Hubert. Searched from 1810-1824. Do you know if the family was RC? The RC records for St. peters in Athlone which was Roscommon start in the late 1700s. The RC records for St. Marys Athlone which was Westmeath start in 1813. Did the McDonald family leave Ireland?

Hello Roger, I have just found yoiur answer to my message and it is now 2023! Bridget left Ireland and was found in Liverpool in December 1847, living under the name Bridget Norton. She was described as a widow with one child. She was charged and found guilty of stealing four pairs of boots or shoes, leading to a sentence of seven years transportation. She left England on the convict ship Tory 2 on April 26 1848 for in VDL (Tasmania). She married Ephraim Doe in a Church of England ceremony in 1850 in the village of Richmond but her convict records state her to have been Catholic. Bridget had two brothers, Tom amd James. Thankyou for your efforts on my behalf. I am soory it took me so long to get back to you. Jenny
