McDevitt, Jane Erise

Hello,

My paternal great, great grandmother was Jane Erise McDevitt born circa 1829 in Ireland.  She emigrated to Australia at some time possibly around 1850.  She married a Thomas Fitzgerald in Australia and had at least one daughter who was named Annie Elizabeth Fitzgerald (born 28 April 1864 at Walcha ,New South Wales , Australia) .

The above is mostly all I know of Jane Erise.   I would initially like to know where in Ireland she was born, and of course anything further about her family history and life.

Thanks,

Paul Morrissey Sydney Australia

Paul,

Have you found Jane's ship record, marriage record or death record? Sometimes they include parent names and birth location.

Are you sure Jane's maiden name was McDevitt?

I found this birth record for a Ann Fitgerald.

Richard Case owned the Walcha Hotel. I think he came over from England on a convict ship. Jane ran the hotelafter his death, Thomas Fitgerald took over when they got married.
