McCartney of Louisiana

I am researching the family of John Louis McCartney (McCarthy/McCarty) born about 1815 in Ireland. He emigrated to Louisiana after 1844 and married Marie Laure Landry in Assumption Parish, Louisiana, USA. His passenger list shows he arrived in New York, New York, USA 27 May 1844 (attached). According to the marriage record from the Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church, it says he was the son of Bernard McCarty and Alexia McCarty. (see attached). He was a sugar planter in Louisiana. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have any further information about John ? the names of his children/ any siblings/ the maiden name of his mother/the date he died and place, without more information this is difficult.

According to the Rev. Hebert in his book Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records v 7, 1848-1852, it states that Jean McCarty (Bernard MacCarty and Alexia McCarty of Ireland) m 7 Aug 1848 to Laure Landry (Michel Landry and Delphine Gravois).

His children were: John born 1852, Virginia born 1854, Anne B born 1858, Mary Alice born 1860 and finally Emma (no date).

John died in Dec 6, 1867 in Assumption Parish, Louisiana and is buried in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery.
