McCallion/ Brooklyn NY

Hello,

Thank you for helping me find the first wife of William John McCallion. I have been searching and contacting places for the death certificate for William John with no luck. He died in an accident in Port Washington NY 7/3/1903 but was living in Kings County Brooklyn at the time. I didn't realize you could also find deaths in the US. Would you be able to find his death certificate? I am trying to find his burial place. Family lore states he was buried on the property of Castle Gould where he was working and was killed in an accident but I cannot find record of that or his burial place. He had no known family in the area at the time of his death.

William John McCallion 1866-1903. He from a fall from a horse on the Castle Gould Property

Perhaps he is buried in the Sands FamiIy Cemetery in Sands Point or the GouId MausoIeum in WoodIawn Cemetery in the Bronx. The death cert shouId have that information.

Patricia,

I am trying to find where he is buried but have been unable to obtain the death certificate. He died in Port Washington but lived in Brooklyn - both places are telling me to look in the other place. I have written everywhere I can think of. There was a rumor that three makeshift graves were found on the property but were unidentified- Sands Point doesnt know anything about that so not sure if it is true. I will double check Sands Family Cemetery and Woodlawn. Thank you

The death certificate is issued by the town/city in which a person died. Can't understand why PW won't Iook for it.

AIbany wiII aIso have the death cert. You can write to them too. They take a Iong time to send certs, but they do have them.
